Tangkoko Conservation Education (or TCE) is the conservation education programme of the Macaca Nigra Project, a research programme launched in April 2006 to study the ecology, reproductive biology and social system of Sulawesi crested black macaques (Macaca nigra) in North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
TCE is a conservation education programme taking place around the Tangkoko nature reserve and other protected forests of North Sulawesi. Since 2011, it aims at giving the survival of the macaques, other wildlife and their habitat a long-term perspective. To achieve this goal, we develop school interventions for young people and awareness campaigns for the local population in order to increase their knowledge and awareness towards their local environment.
With TCE, we learn from nature and act for nature!
